To stick out in a competitive market like it is the wine sector in Spain and also international you need one thing: Great wines with their own personality, wines that are distinctive, which tell you something about where they are coming from and how much love and work stands behind them.

We, Vihucas and our wines are like this. To shape our wines even more we count from now on with the support and knowledge of Ana Martín Onzain. Without any doubts she is one of the most known, experienced and demanded enologists in Spain and also international. With her help we want to try to improve ourselves and our wines, to learn and innovate, to keep on our way towards sustainability and to show that also small wineries are able to make great wines.

Ana Martín Onzain has such a complete and intense career, that it seems impossible to ressume it in some simple lines. She entered the world of wine through studies in the field of chemistry and completed her education with studies of viticulture and enology in Madrid. Together with José Hidalgo, one of her professors Ana Martín started her first projects. During the years she also started activities in research and teaching. She is also a common jury-member in national and international wine contests. Ana Martín worked with well-known wineries like Terras Gauda, Casa Gualda CJ, Condes de Albarei and is right now collaborating in projects with Guitian, Itsasmendi, Traslanzas or Castillo de Cuzcurrita.

Her incentive is the challenge to make the best wine in every local and regional conditions. Her strength is the ability to distinguish the different personalities of grapes and vines. With her comeback to the region La Mancha Ana Martín wants to show the big potential of this area. Vihucas became her project because she likes our personality and character as well as our ecological and sustainable concept. Ana Martín always just works in one project per region - we are very proud, that Vihucas is the one in La Mancha.
